Hi. I've got a one year old 55g reef tank and while I was changing out the skimmer cup tonight I noticed this long, pale worm on the underside of the display (at the bottom of the sand bed, tunneling against the glass). I posted a video link below. From what I could see, it's between 6-10 inches and seems to tunnel through the sandbed. Any help on an ID? Should I try to fish it out? Thank you!

If you have had the tank for 1 year and have not had any issues with eaten corals the worm is probably harmless. Honestly there is not enough contrast to make out details, I can not ID the worm. I would remove the worm and put it in a sump if you have one and try to get a better image. You can go to an ID site such as chucksaddiction hitch hikers, specifically worms and compare the images against what you have.

Good luck hopefully someone will come along that can make a good ID.

Thanks. Yeah, the video is not good quality and I figured it was highly unlikely someone could confidently ID it. I browsed chucksaddiction and nothing jumped out at me, but hopefully now that I know the bugger is there I'll be able to get a better look at him soon. Thanks for the feedback.
