Worm? ID

Found this free swimming in my DT tonight. Sorry for the horrible picture... :-\
It's about 1" long and "swims" like a water snake. Seems to have a segmented body, or cilia-esk legs...?

by any color i mean variations of black brown dark orange white
 
Some species can swim, I'd say it's a type of bristle worm, but not the common kind that most people end up with.
 
Mine seem to reproduce by sending "spinners" like a spinning top through the water column around dusk; mine are pink and black though. I know they're the bristle worms because they eventually land and seem to be little bristle worms... I say "seem" I haven't watched one grow up from 1/16" to 4"
