So when doing a water change and after disturbing the sand, I found this worm hanging out the rim of my tank (anyone else ever had a worm try and escape?).

I always knew I had worms in there, and have been trying to catch the bigger ones for a few weeks now. I know they're normally a beneficial, good part of the CUC, but some are getting too big for comfort in my nano! This one was about 6".

Anyways, can anyone confirm this is a bristle and not a bad one?

Thanks

I regret to say I was in a hurry when doing the water change so didn't grab more photos and don't have the worm to hand anymore.

I appreciate the photo is not good though!

When I spot any more in the tank I will photo and share.

I believe it is a type of syllidae worm. You have the family of syllidae. Then you get more in depth and look at the subfamily list and so on and so forth. It would be hard to ID it with the picture given so saying it is a syllidae is as good as we can do. Hope that helps.

Thanks all.

Fingers crossed it's not a bad one. So far corals have been left alone (even some hydroids).
