Worm inside of Candy Cane coral

So have noticed my X-Mass and 6 line wrasse around the coral a lot, then I saw a bite mark out of one of the trumpets and figured it was the wrasse. Now.. I saw this worm coming out of the head and think this is what the wrasse was after... What is it? Any suggestions - dip? leave it?

I think it's a barnacle. Won't cause harm to the coral, but your wrasses may attempt to eat it, causing damage to the polyp. Not much in my experience you can do about them though.

Ah.. that’s wild may be the wrasse culprit then - thought it was eating the corals originally

Maybe dip it just to be safe?

Could be mistaken, but don’t think the dip would kill barnacle will probs inside the shell.. Dipped it went I put it in ~2 months ago or so

Yeah but if it is a worm the dip would kill it.

Im thinking vermetid if im looking at the right thing. Even with barnacle, carefully using a needlenose pliers, grab at the base and slowly wiggle loose to avaid injury to the candy cane and discard

Coral barnacles are harmless nothing to worry about.

Yeah but if it is a worm the dip would kill it.

Not always , for instance, will not kill vermetids or spitobids
