Worm or lamprey?

I just removed a worm like critter from my fire digi. Sorry, no picture, sample is in my rug, spilled during photo.
Critter had a red body, eel like, with a black heart-shaped head. 1/4” in length. Critter was attached to coral, and when suctioned off, critter left behind a white whatever that’s still attached to the coral. The hole, or indentation is where this critter was attached. Rear part of coral.

Worm definitely. Lampreys are only found in cooler temperate waters. Need a picture for an actual ID
