Worm shed it’s skin?

I saw my Royal Gramma pick this up and drop it. Anybody know if any worms in our tanks shed their skin?

Bristleworms like earthworms have a mucus that protect their skins allowing them to slide thru gravel bedding without injury or mucus removal. Through growth, they shed this and regenerate a new protective capsule, so likely you are seeing a shed.
Very similar also with a snake-
