Worm thingy

I found this guy at the base of a monti:

Any idea what this is?
I am tempted to just take a razor and get it off there.

Vermetid snail? Does it have a hard shell?
Some people say they are bad because of their 'slime nets'. I have millions however and they don't bother me, the fish or the corals. The tank does look gross and messy if one of my fish causes a dust storm and small particles stick to the slime.

I dont think its moving. this guy grows right there.

I think the thing on the right is a vermetid, the "shell" of the one on the right does look different though.
