I found this on my rocks a few minutes ago. What is it? I don't know if it's related at all, but earlier today I saw what I think are hydroids on the glass of my aquarium.

Looks like a spaghetti worm to me. They’re not harmful to anything. They live in the sand bed and reach out the tentacles for detritus. Good cuc critter, just a little ugly.

Definitely not a spaghetti worm (not a hair worm either ;) )

Harmless. Good clean up crew.
Spaghetti worms have much finer and longer "tentacles". Do a quick Google image search and you will see the difference.
@Sean Clark , I'm so disappointed in you...

It does look more like a medusa worm. Thanks for your reply! I just wanted to make sure it's safe to leave in.

Edit:
I do see online that it might release toxins if stressed? Is that correct?

Technically correct however I would not worry about it. They are small and the amount they contain is minimal. It is a defensive tool to keep from being eaten. They do not contain the same toxin that regular cucumbers are capable of releasing.

Okay. Thank you for the info!
