Started as a small circle, assumed it was some type of injured coral tissue. But now definitely appears to be some type of worm?

Appears to be a large vermatid snail.

Looks just like that! I thought at the ‘open’ end it appeared to have antennae protruding. So it would be ok to epoxy over it?

Yup. You might even be able to pop it off with a fingernail.
