worms? sponges ?

what are these little white things growing off the walls and everything in my return section of my AIO ?

I am thinking they are a sponge the more and more i look maybe these longhorn sponges?

are they hard or soft? soft could be sponge, hard could be something else (unsure), but i have them too in my sump and it doesn't seem to affect anything.

They are soft almost rubbery, tank has been setup for about 9 months so far
