I've had my Kenya tree for 3 months. These past 2 months it's looked as what it looks in the photo below. I've tried more flow, less flow, more light, less light. Anything. Idk why it doesn't look happy and why it's polyps haven't opened up. Idk if it's alive or dead or what to do to help it out? I've heard it's a hardy coral, but idk why it's been like this for 2 months. I know it's supposed to be more sprouted with it's polyps open. I appreciate any and all help! Also, ignore where it's placed in the photo. I was trying to give it less light to see how it'd be, but it was put in that specific spot briefly because my goby wouldn't stop putting sand on it. Also my parameters are normal. No ammonia and nitrates are low. It's a 15 gal tank with an AI Prime light and built in filter. Thank you!

Is something nipping at it? Check the rock closely for something that might be bothering it.
I keep mine in a back corner of my tank, low flow and medium light.
It's great that your parameters are normal, but what are they all in detail?

I use test strips to test my waters. Nitrates 40, Nitrites 0, pH 7.5, KH 80, and GH 180

Your Nitrates high, ph low....... they do well in high light and moderate flow with iron and iodine in the water
Have your water tested at lfs as test strip readings may be different than test kit

Okay. I'll take my water in tomorrow to see what they say and then I'll comment back.

While you're there, buy a few proper test kits - ditch the strips.
Nitrate, Ammonia, Alkalinity and Calcium are the 4 I would focus on.

Hey! So I didn't get much of a response from my LFS. They just said it was fine with nothing much. I'm going to take it in to someone I know who tests waters and ask them for better info. But I do know my pH was low and was wondering how do I raise it? Thank you!
