I’ve had this anemone for about a month. The first 3 weeks everything seemed fine he had tentacles about an inch long. But the last 4 days he’s looked like this, and I see little bit of tentacle on the rock around it. I’ve turned off all the power heads thinking it may be too much flow. The tank is right at a year old. Do I need to worry about it or is this just a normal phase?

ammonia is 0
nitrite is 0.005
phosphate is 0.002
temp is around 75

I’ve had tentacles shrink down before if lighting wasn’t intense enough, what are you using?

In my experience, you don't have to worry about too much flow with an anemone. I run a high flow SPS dominant tank and my 3 anemones are thriving. As stated above, high quality light and proper parameters are most important for a nem.

I will bump the light up, but what else should I be looking for in the water parameters?

BLUES AT 70% AND WHITES AT 30-40% AND MODERATE WATER FLOW. YOU MAY TRY ALSO A SMALL PIECE OF SHRIMP OR OTHER FOOD TO SEE HOW IT RESPONDS

Longer light schedule and give it some flow.

Thanks for the reply’s. I’m making the changes now. I’ll update In a couple days.
