Ever gotten something cool on a piece of live rock or coral? What about a pest? This excellent video by Than of Tidal Gardens addresses the 5 WORST HITCHHIKERS! Check it out!

What are the worst pests you've ever had in your tank? What precautions do you take to avoid pests in your reef?

Also, be sure to check out the great products from NYOS AQUATICS! :-)

Fish eating green brittle star.

Dip, have not used live rock in ages. Plan to get some though and will qt it for a long time before adding to system.

I had Euphyllia eating flat worms! I lost about 5 different pieces of coral(Torch,Hammer and a frogspawn) due to these guys! I had one hammer that lasted through everything. I dipped all the corals in Coral RX 3 times over a period of about 10 days. Happy to say I was able to get rid of them. They really did deplete my Hammers:(

That is a perfect picture of those guys and evident egg layers

Sorry for the losses :(

Hey no worries you live and you learn. Plus it was super informational. Just trying to pass along info to others. I had never dipped my coral before then, now idc where it comes from its getting dipped and closely inspected.

Nice video!

I got a nice euphila eating FW, AEFW, monti eating nudibranches and zoa eating nudies.

Zoa eating nudies were the easiest to get rid of, however the others were not soo easy :(

Not sure what type of crab it was this picture is it in my fuge after tearing the tank down to find it. It will bury itself in sand and until I took it out lost a lot of fish. It was pretty big.
