Worst mistake you ever made?

spending 4 long days painting the new house 1957sqft, then moving the whole house over the next three days and then moving the tank on sunday and having to be at work at 3am monday. exhaustion finally caught up and knock me on my butt for the next 3 days killing all my sps and seeing what else is a goner.

not testing alk or calcium regularly. had a few mini-crashes that involved loss of SPS and other LPS.

Telling my wife how much I really spent on coral.

Never never do that my friend, sometimes lying pays. My ex wife after 29 years said you care more about your reef than me. Go figure!!!!!

Yes sneak in the bags so they won't go to the mall, money saving tip.lol

Adding a sand sifting star, against everyones advice, to my thriving 330 lb Southdown DSB.
In less than 3 months it looked like the Sahara Desert with no spaghetti worms, pods, baby snails or anything left.

Easily the stupidest thing by far.

I bought one about two years ago. Doing great, was a novice and didn't even acclimate it. And it's thriving. Bought another and acclimated for 4 hours slow drip. Died in a month.

I had one for about 6 months doing great and growing fast (even had a 6th leg, getting ready to drop it) and one day out of the blue, my **** peppermint shrimp decided enough was enough and killed it and devoured it...

+1 on telling the wife how much everything really costs. The only real cure for her disapproval is several trips to the mall.

You should know by know - frags cost "about $5 or $10 dollars", colonies cost "about $15", bigger colonies "about $20" and anytime you buy a TON of stuff online, you HAVE to have it shipped to work and tell her "Oh, a friend just fragged his tank and I got all his frags for a few bucks." Seriously, ordering $400 worth of stuff from Unique Corals or Cherry and having it delivered to your house while you are at work and she (or he, no judgement!) is home with a packing slip showing your spent $80 or more on a 1" frag is grounds for divorce...
