+1, its claws are not big enough to catch and hold the fish, unless you have a monster emerald size of your palm.

How old is your tank? I never did have enough food for a mandarin. Couldn't ever keep one.

Was it eating prepared foods? My scooter blenny takes mysis and even pellets but I try to make sure it has enough natural foods as well. My tank is 11 months old and only a 29 gal. I've had the scooter for almost the entire time.
