I have always had an affinity for bow front tanks but have never had one, the current owner is also going to help transport during the move to my home, help set it up for me, and also going to drill my 125 and help set a sump up for it, all I need for that to be done is to buy another sump tank.Yeah it really depends what your looking for. If you like bowfront?
Livestock and equipment list looks great but I feel like you could get a much better, more efficient tank for less.
Yup, it’s a nice little townEquipment and stock wise is worth it in my eyes. The tank, not so much(I dislike bowfront tanks).
As a side note:
Shippensburg PA? I have friends that live there.
Always bargain especially on used equipment and package deals. Highly unlikely he will unload that for more than $2-2500 to right person being a bowfront.Id make sure its the right deal, some one was selling the exact same tank on our local forum for 400$ it didn't have a full apex or roller mat but it had good equipment. Id say try to bargin with the guy. Its always nice to save a few bucks!
Very true they usually end up parted out at lfs for deeply discounted prices.I see this type of deal all the time locally.
Personally I would go $1500 max and that would even be hard for me to do.
Full tank systems are hard to sell, imo.
Really hard to put numbers on things sometimes. Unless the guy has ten yellow tangs then we know. Lol. What I would do is list out the new price of all the equipment and try to get an idea of what the same used equipment is going for. Doing your research on this one might save the day. Also make sure its the new apex! I don't know much about them but I'm assuming you'd want the newest due to support issues. Hope this helps! ;Greedy ;Greedy;Greedy;Greedy;GreedyVery true they usually end up parted out at lfs for deeply discounted prices.
He will be lucky to get $2500 from the right person. It is used after all.
2k seems ok if he moves and sets it up.
I already have a 125 gallon tank that’s still kind of in the beginning of its life, so I’m not really missing out on that.I personally dont like buying used, especially when talking about thousands of dollars, but it might be worth it if you can bring down the price.
But, what are you actually buying here? Anyone can have a tank like that, in about 3-5 years, you are just buying time, but your missing out on the hobby experience. You are missing the experience of watching everything grow, missing out on researching what corals can be placed close together, researching different parameters and understanding the elements, missing on chatting with and learning from other hobbyists, etc.... Its kind of like skipping ahead and just buying the final show product, which to me, is just boring (sorry, I don't mean to be offensive)
