Been thinking about adding a dragonet to my reef. I'm thinking maybe a ruby red or a mandarin, but was wondering if my engineer goby might take that personally? Billy has been king of the sand bed for a bit now, and he definitely likes to stir it up.

How large is your engineer? My adult engineers would eat anything small. They ate a neon goby, harlequin shrimp and a small rainford goby. As long you don't get a baby mandarin or ruby red, it should be fine.

I had a full grown mandarin with a 8 inch engineer goby with no problems.

The engineer is full grown I think. If I get a dragonet, I'll definitely be sure it's an adult too. Thanks for the tip.

My pair was easily 12"+ after 6 years of having them. That's when they started eating new livestock. I still remember the day me and my daughter added the neon goby... literally dropped him in the tank and he got swallowed whole in less than 5 seconds. That was the most expensive meal he ate at the time. I didn't learn though and proceeded to feed him that harlequin and rainford... lol
