I've got a natural artesian well down from my house that's been active since the 1930s. There is a elementary school across the street that it supplied water for. I pass by it daily on the way to work and was just wondering if anyone would use this water for water changes. It has a wellhouse that the water is constantly pouring out of. I'm not sure if there's any filters in it . I have drink the water since I was a teenager.

Yea I probably would. Is test though. Probably a light filter. But then again I drink Southern California tap water.
@AZDesertRat can you point us to some info.

We have a few reefers using those in my country, yet the issue is how good the well is done (some will allow a bit of mud in) soil nature can also play a role.
The biggest issue they've reported is high TDS up to 8-900 which RO only lowers down to 70-80 at best. So the toll on DI is rather high.

I got 5 gallons this morning that I'm going to test. I've searched for County results on the Internet and can't find anything other than what's on the link that I provided.

I personally would not use it, it will probably have high TDS which would contribute to an algae problem and it would be impossible to know what else is in the water. Just because it didn't harm a human does not mean it wouldn't harm fish or corals (copper for example)

Pretty sure I'm not going to use it on my tank that's currently running. I've got a Biocube 14 just sitting in my garage that I'm considering starting up with this water just for a test. There's a driving range right across the street where they use a lot of fertilizer. It's a true flowing artesian well and should be impermeable by any runoff from the course. It should all be washed away in the unconfined aquifer water table. It's not worth the chance with my current tank though.

That it wuld be really cool to set up a tank using that water, it would be a great example of why you should only use RODI water. I have always wanted to do two small tanks that are identical except one uses RODI and the other uses regular tap or well water
