Hello everyone!

I currently have a Pro Clear Aquatics sump that I want to add a refugium at the bottom of the sump. Do you folks think it would work? I’ve attached an image of how the sump currently sits and a sketch of what I plan to change for a refugium. If I add the refugium I might do mineral mud, rubble rock, chaeto and grow light for the chateo.

Let me know what y’all

think! Thanks!

Place heater in return pump section and refugium will need light. If you’re doing a conventional fuge, you won’t need bio balls, etc otherwise looks good

Thanks soo much!

I’m going to have to swap out my existing heater to my smaller one since the one I currently have in there is a bit big for the return pump section.

I do plan on adding a light, how many watts would be fine for chaeto ?

Can I leave the filter media or do I have to remove it?

Thanks!

For chaeto, go with red light. I recommend the innovative marine chaeto light
