Would like to perfect flow in my fluval need some ideas.

So right now I currently have the stock return pump and a jebao sw2. I did have another power head under the return pump outlet for a bit but i took it out. Flow is really a tough concept and with all the powerheads and return pumps im not sure what to get.

I run a sicce return pump around 260gph and a 250gph hydro wave maker. Works great

I like using a random flow generator on my return.
I also like using a wavemaker on the same wall but lower down. This way there is turbulence and a very random flow through the tank. I use Jebao OW-10 Wavemaker and it’s pretty powerful and has many different functions. It’s not gonna break the bank either.

I can move the wave maker here. Which direction should I point it after this? Towards my sps maybe as I feel under the return theres such low flow

Here is a pic of mine. The flow From return and wavemaker meet on opposite wall, bounce off, and create turbulent flow throughout the tank.

You could try and angle the return nozzle downward. YOu could also try and angle the wavemaker at an angle where it sweeps around the rock off of the glass

I have the wave maker and return nozzles aimed at each other. Creates a nice flow with interruptions. No biggy mon

I saw your reply on my email and I just had Epiphany of how this makes sense. I see my flow now as arrows going clockwise but this flow just turns those arrows on its side and amplifies it. I know I’m a little slow on it but I learned something and thats my favorite part of the hobby

Its almost fully down right now but I have one right now towards the top so there is surface agitation

Maybe consider a wide flow on like the jebaeo sine slw or a second powerhead? I would think a single wavemaker should work though

I only view my Evo from the front and I have mine aimed slightly up and across the return flow disturbing the flow. 2000 Lph powerhead.

I have only lps and soft coral but I have found that my return pump (roughly 275 gph) with random flow generators instead of flared nozzels. Huge amount of growth in my LPS and leathers.
