I have these in two spots on the same rock. Not sure what to make of them. Any ideas? Thanks!

Looks to me like some type of hydroids

I thought that to but do they come with hairs all the way down like that? All of my rock was dry pukani when I started. I'm sure they hitch hiked in.

Also what do you do about Hydroid? They irritate coral right?

Thecate hydroids do... I'm sure there are others as well?

They can yes. They are actually very closely related to jellyfish, and particular life cycles where are attached at times, and free floating at times. My only experience is with colonial hydriods, and they can be quite a menace.... similar to aiptasia, but do not spread near as fast.
