If you can, split them between Atleast 3 40G tanks. You don’t want to throw them all into a small tank and risk their peacefulness into being a fight over territory.

wont have enough room for 3 40 gallon tanks next year i'm gonna get another tank BUT i want the tank in the same place as my current tank cause it runs parallel with the joists how else would i go about doing it a different way?
maybe get it set up in 1 day is it possible?

is it a 40 breeder (36x18) or 40 long (48x13)

if its a short time you may be ok, but def too many fish for one tank. If you can source a tank with the same footprint you can sometimes get two on a rack. i have 2 29's on stacked. i used to stack 180's and 75s.

if you have the option the 40 breeder if a better footprint, it offers you marginally more Sq footage and easier to work within due to the front to back depth.

In my opinion, this isn’t likely to end well for the poor fish if this is for anything other than a quick tank transfer or something.

wait, these fish are adults?

thats some expensive livestock to stress out. maybe sell some of the fish, especially the tangs and angel. i wouldn't put any of them into a 40 beyond a tiny specimen

well i was thinking of putting the lemonpeel , rubre basslet, midas blenny, and my 2 wrasse in a 13.5 gallon and the bigger fish in a 40 while i set my 5 foot tank up

so 2 tangs and goldflake angel in the 40
rest in the 13.5 might add the midas blenny too the 40 aswell as his cave wont fit in the 13.5

good luck to you, i couldn't keep two tangs together in my 90 and they were on the small side and added at the same time after being QT'd together for like 6 weeks

Here, you mentioned not enough room for 3 of the 40 gallon tanks, but with the lack of punctuation it wasn’t clear if you were saying “next year I won’t have space for 3 of the 40 gallon tanks,” or if you were saying “I don’t have room for 3 of them. Next year I plan to get a new tank.” Assuming you meant the latter, it seemed weird because a few days certainly isn’t the same as being in there until you eventually get some new tank.

If you are developing a plan for the future, e.g. when you get a new tank next year, to hold or transfer fish, then okay. But the good thing is you have plenty of time to make arrangements to house the fish in the best way possible when the time comes.

I guess I’ll still make an attempt to be helpful. If you are planning on getting a new tank next year that is going to go in the exact spot of your current tank, then you might consider doing a quick tank transfer. It’d be a long day of work, but would probably be the “easiest” on the animals.

A big stock tank would be what I would do. Tractor Supply or similar

even a 55g tote from home depot would probably be better if for only a "few days". A few days imo is max 3 days. you could do possibly 2 or 3 of the smaller ones and pair or trio the fish 1 larger to two smaller.
