Limited options in the UK apart from buying expensive off the shelf stuff. Gets very expensive with a tank my size.

Does the COA linked not give the purity and all other elements that were found?

i can't answer if that a typical level of contaminants or not, but...

it's "food grade" which allows for much more impurities than pharmaceutical grade.
try to see if you can source something that is pharma grade instead.

Good shout on the Pharma grade. Having trouble finding any over here though Found Mag in Pharma grade ok, There is the option of Tropic Marin or DSR Calc but a fair bit more expensive that what I was using until the company went bust...

Have you seen the impurities allowed to know that usp is a stricter test? I haven’t, but wouldn’t assume usp is always stricter in any meaningful way.

You could also try Kalkwasser. But if your having a hard time finding pharma grade calcium idk if you could find pharma grade Kalkwasser. Worth a look if your interested in Kalk. Good luck

That brings up my point again. In this case, pharmacy grade is slightly poorer than food grade. Do not assume food grades are ever worse than usp grades.

The reason is based on consumption. If the regulatory body is worried about a person consuming too much lead, for instance, they account for how much one might eat and how much one might get in pharmaceuticals daily. Fir calcium hydroxide, one might eat a whole lot more than normal doses of pharmaceuticals might contain.

I'll have a read through of your article later. What I should have mentioned is that I don't do water changes so it is important to get as pure as I can to prevent the build-up of unwanted elements. I did have an issue with Zinc being very high (according to ICP) 146 ug/l. I've got it down to 12 now with Metasorb and a one-off big water change. Not sure where it came from. Pipes, Glass, Salt Mix, something else or these off the shelf Cal, Alk, and Mag supplements.
