I will by getting a 150 by the end of the year, and this is what I was planning on stocking it with. Of course, this is not set in stone, but I really like all these fish and with the research I've done they should be compatible (?). But I am not an expert, that why I am here asking y'all so here's my two questions. Would these fish be compatible in a 72 x 18 x 28 long tank? And would this be too many fish? This will probably be a non-reef tank, but I might convert it after a few years. Thanks for your help.

1 blue tang

1 possible yellow tang

1 possible powder brown tang after tank is established

2 ocellaris clowns

1 mandarin

1 christmas wrasse

m/f pair of mccosker's wrasse

1 lyretail wrasse

1 leopard wrasse

1 Aiptasia eating filefish

3-5 blue reef chromis

Don't add them all at one time. When stocking, I go one fish every 8 weeks allowing the nitrifying colony to grow and cover the additional bio load.

Be sure to quarantine. Wouldn't it suck if you had 8 or 10 fish happy and established only to add an infected fish and make the entire tank sick?

In addition - I'd be a little leery of both the Blue and powder brown tangs. Although the tank might be long enough, it is not very wide (18"). The Blue can easily grow as long as the tank is wide, and both of them are referred to as "Ich Magnets" for a reason.

First off I would like to comment on you tank dimensions. You may regret the 18" width of that tank. Unless you don't have the room, you won't regret going with a 24" width tank.

I am looking at getting a shoal of Azure Damsels. I have learned the more the better. Always odd number. Minimum of 5. Others may have better advice about bio load but to me I think your fine with that list if not under stocked.

But the rest would be compatible? And there is not too many?

Yeah I would of course rather get a 24", but I have a tight budget and am getting a very, very good deal on this one

add all the blue green chromis at once and they do much better in bigger groups. I would only do more than five for a group. There is defiantly a hierarchy. They tend to be aggressive with each other. The more the aggression is spread out the better.

View media item 4736If you getting great deal work with it...I have a 150 for the same reason.. it came with a trigger refug/sump, skimmer, and lights for all $700, all brand new. For all of the wrasses have a cover over the tank...my tank is only 4ft long, but it is over 30" tall, 24"depth enables me to have tall rock structure...you will find a way to make it work if the deal is good enough.

Could I mix a group of chromis? I was thinking 2 of each of these: blue/green, blue, lemon, black axil, and black and white

thats a beautiful dog. We just for a husky @Fin also just got a husky pup. They are wonderful dogs.

Never tried it. Ive got the blue/green chromis. $6 vs $30 is why I ended up with the blue green.

@eatbreakfast any thoughts .
