I am running mostly lps and softies. I plan on getting some sps and a clam. After I finish my canopy build. Right now I still use my aquatic life 4 bulb T5 @ 24 watts x 4= 96 watts total. I am going to gut it, and mount it in the canopy. Also in between the 4 t5's , I got a 150watt metal halide hood from a 28 gal nano tank of my buddies.

So there will be the MH 150, 4T5's, and 8 total 1watt moonlight LEDs. Which will total 254 watts.

Good , thx. I am testing the bio cube hood on the tank , to see how my corals are reacting. So far so good.

Depending on the LPS you're keeping and whether or not you're running the 4 T5's at the same time as the MH you may have too much light but only testing and time will tell...

Humm , how a out those chinese lets ? 2 of them, cause I love the color of my t5's the put out with ati bule+, and coral +, purple +...... Of corse I would swap the coral plus out for the purple actinic then, just for that radio active color pop.lol

Should be ok but I don't think you would need to run them all at once. A lot of people do like 3 hrs t5 then t5 off with mh on for 4 hours. Then mh off with t5 on for another 2-3 hours. Friend does this over his tanks and has amazing growth, says there no point in roasting them under the mh for 8 hrs when you can get great growth out of 4 hrs mixed in with the t5

I run a 250 MH and 2 96w PCs on a 55g 36x18x18? 442w total

MH 8 hrs
PC 12 hrs

I used to have 2 150 halides and 4 24" pc's on my 40 tall (can't remember the wattage but it was A LOT of light and everything grew like a weed). Maybe 10 watts per gallon.. only thing that sucked was the chiller kicked on all the time:(
