Would this microscope work for algae id

I found these microscopes for sale and they look pretty decent considering they come from a school lab nearby. I am curious if these will work for algae and anything else I need to look at. I don’t know what all the #’s are on the lenses. I think it magnified up to 400x. or do I need something more powerful? Thanks
