Would this plumbing method work?

Just wondering if this method would push water into my sump. Sorry for the terrible picture and drawing guys but the rectangle in the picture is my sump which is a brute container. Just wondering if water would reach the sump with a good drain like that would water run through the pvc and reach sump if pvc is running parallel with the tank until I dropped it down into sump?
