So my petsmart has about 40 of these marineland 60 kits with stand lid and tank for 300$ but they are pretty sure they will be 150 for black friday. My plans for this tank would be to drill it and throw on a sump. Would this be worth it for 150? The cabinet space is only 14 inch deep which makes me concerned if a sump can even be added.

The price is good @$150, but I greatly dislike the dimensions of these tanks. It is the same as a standard 55g, but a few inches taller. Aquascaping these tanks is VERY difficult as everything is right up against the glass and leaves very little room for fish to swim.

Get a 40b instead, they should only be $50 during the sales. They sell a stand for ~$75 but it is not enclosed. These tanks are VERY popular because the dimensions are much more friendly and can be drilled easily!

I absolutely agree with @lpsouth1978 i hate the dimensions, 40 breeder is way cooler and easier. If you want to go big 125 or 180 especially is where it’s at

I have one of these for freshwater and it simply hurts my eyes to look at the from and back panel are too close and really distorts the environment not sure how to explain. Hard to perceive or portray depth when it’s only like a foot wide

I had this tank for many years, not reef friendly in dimensions. I agree with the others.

A 40B would be most cost effective. A 75 is great and you can use a 40B below for sump or a 20L works well too.

Also could get at Petco for 40 on the $1 gallon

Noted! I'll probably get a 40b then!

From what I have read these and the 65 they sell at petsmart have a reputation to be leakers. Something about the bottom seams not holding up. Stick to a 40b or a 75.
