Would this work for a desktop ato reservoir?

I'm still working on setting up my desktop Waterbox Peninsula Mini, and I'm going to need a reservoir for the ATO and another for the AWC (to hold the saltwater). What do you guys think about 2 of these? They look like they'd be aesthetic and low profile enough to fit the bill. I'm wondering about size and material. It seems like it should work to me, but I'm wondering if there's something I'm not thinking of.

I was looking at that, but it says the divider can be removed.

I would not be too concerned about food safe as no company selling a trash can is going to list it as food safe even if it is. My Rubbermaid trash can is not listed as food safe but I use it for RODI and Saltwater storage.

One thing I notice in the description is "Plastic Steel trash can" Looks like the outside is steel and it has a plastic liner. The steel could rust.

Good info. Your link does say:

“To be certain that you are choosing a bottle that does not leach, check the recycling symbol on your bottle. If it is a #2 HDPE (high density polyethylene), or a #4 LDPE (low density polyethylene), or a #5 PP (polypropylene), your bottle is fine.”

iirc, the Amazon description says it polypropylene which would make it #5.

I would also be concerned too. But sometimes descriptions from chinese to english don't translate too well.
It is from amazon so it can be returned with a minimum amount of effort.

I've seen slim style pet food containers that might work also.

Thanks guys! I'm on the hunt for things I can use in my office for reservoirs. I'm addition to functionality, these items need to "hide in plain sight." I may try out the trash can and see if it would work when it gets to me (as @mfinn pointed out, returning it wouldn't be hard if it doesn't fit the bill when it arrives). But if you guys have other ideas on stuff to use, I'd certainly appreciate it.

Not a specific recommendation of a product but you could get any container you like and package it in something prettier. Like here’s this ugly hedpak or jug. Put it in this prettier box/container.
