Here is a basic concept for plumbing a 120 gallon DT and 30 gallon long display fuge. There would be two return pumps with a ball valve to use either one or both. The fuge would drain into DT? Want mangroves and sea grass. Will have either a fuge in sump or a reactor for chateo.
Any and all help and opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Seems kinda redundant to have your display fuge drain into your dt, when it’s already plummed into the same sump. And if you 86ed the drain you can have those tanks on the same level.

I want to drain into DT for nutrient and pod additions. It will be higher because I need it closer to my window for natural lighting for the mangroves. At least that is my thought process as of now.

yes it'll work. I have basically the same thing except my display fuge is literally over my DT. It will make balancing the DT drains a little trickier than normal because of the extra for the display fuge but it can be done.

With mine I left the DT drains wide open and balanced the display fuge drain/return flow. Once I was happy with that I then balanced the DT drains. Mine is a little challenging because I'm using a reef ready tank that was plumbed for two dursos and I converted it to two herbies but the principle is the same.

Thanks, it's been a process. I had surgery last year on my knee and transfer jobs so the tanks all suffered while I got life sorted but I'm getting things back on track now.

Had to take a step back and reevaluate a few things. Life is a little insane right now. Cabin Fever is real. Any ideas on how to get perishable items like Dr, Tims one and only shipped during the winter? Litterally below zero on the reg around here.

It’s ok if Dr. Tim’s and similar freeze. I think there is a thread on here about Vibrant or Microbacter 7 where the manufacturer was saying that.

See if the shipper will add a heat pack. If its wrapped in styrofoam and a heat pack is add it should work. May cost a little bit more.

I just picked up a bottle of Dr. Tim’s, and it was in the fridge. I think plumbing the Drain for the fuge, into the return pump section for the main DT, would get you the nutrients and pods to the DT.

Ryan mentioned it one of his videos. He said you shouldn't buy the liquid but get the gel version instead. They offered to pack it special but it is costly so they said to look into another option.

I’ve never even heard of a gel version. Are you wanting it to seed your tank? Look at Fitz Turbo Start too.

Sorry. Not the one and only, it was another product. Something to get rid of algae I think. Yes, I want to seed a tank. I actually want to use several types. It makes sense to me to use all of them to get a more diverse group of bacteria.
