Would tube worms make a candycane polyp bail?

Woke up this morning to see that the candycane coral that I nursed back from virtually nothing (got stung by my mini carpet while on vacation) bailed it’s skeleton. I’m curious if the tube worms that were growing up it’s skeleton has something to with it. I’ll check my parameters when I get home but have recently made the switch from blue bucket to TMP. I kinda doubt the salt change stressed it enough to make it bail within a couple of days since the switch. Everything else seems normal. Does anyone know?

I'd say no (otherwise I'd have a lot of empty skeletons :/ ). I may have been a delayed response to getting stung, problems can take weeks to months to show up in corals. My primary suspect though would be something's off with your water parameters. I'd do a full set of tests and several water changes if none have been done recently.

I’m also suspecting that maybe the new nassarius snails I put into the tank were stealing food from it. I did a 3 gallon wc with new salt (TMP) on Sunday. The tube worm was right up in its business but I never thought it be an issue.
my parameters haven’t really changed much in fact they’ve probably improved some. It was stung down to just about nothing but a spec inside a skeleton and came back to a full head and what seems like for no reason dumped off. I placed the polyp where the flow wouldn’t swish it around and when I got home it accepted food like normal. Walked off and when I came back to the tank a nassarius snail was all over it like a bad date. I’m at a loss. Im hoping that it’ll regrow skeleton so that I can re glue it down in the future. I guess I’ll just monitor.
