Would you buy this UV sterilizer? Amazon 55watts

It’s a really good price and it was a high wattage. Almost seems too good to be true. The reviews show that it broke for some people (returns are good before 1 month).

Wondering if I should pull the trigger?

If it is designed like the jebao then no. The black on that one melts/wears off. The pipe isn’t appropriate long term in the Jebao so I would worry another cheap one may also not be made of plastic that can withstand UV for a good while.

Pipe seems too small for that double bulb. A lot of theses guys claim pvc etc.. but its abs. Will turn to black powder.

I used to have the Aquaviolet and it worked well. I stupidly sold it off (because I quarantine my fish now and didn’t want to deal with the maintenance)

But I miss my crystal clear water so badly. I’m running 3 of the marine land diatom filters and they want to be changed 2x a day! My water is very clear, but the UV does the same thing.

About how many watts for bacteria/algae control?

250 gallons. I think they want me to buy the 55 watts.

Thank you guys! I ordered the Aquaviolet. I had a bad gut feeling towards the Amazon one, and I’m glad you guys helped me realize what needed to be purchased instead.

I got the aqua ultraviolet 57watt.
