Perpendicular is definitely the best. That spreads my 72 inch over 5+ joists. To add to my personal experience, my 80 gallon (maybe 100 total volume) is in the middle of my main floor and parallel to the floor joists. This house is newer and uses the i-joists. When my kids bounce up and down in this room I can see the floating canopy (brackets are attached to back of the stand) bounce as well. It’s probably fine but I personally would not go bigger than this in this spot. I’m sure it would be much better on a perimeter wall perpendicular to joists.
Yeah they are parallel with the door.So the joists are parallel to the door opening? Doubt that’s a load bearing wall if it’s parallel to joists.
