Would you trade a 4" x 6" piece of star polyp for a frag of the pot of gold favia ? I did at my LFS and here it is. How does it look ? Where should I place it in my tank for lighting and flow?

Thats probably the best trade I have ever heard of...Nice snag

Seriously dude....way to trade up. That's a fantastic piece you picked up.

I have been growing Mia Pot of Golf Favia for over 4 years now and the best place to put it is in a Low light area Here is a Pic of mine in very low light.

Thanks. The funny thing is, my LFS will make twice as much chopping up that star polyp. Oh yea I got 15 gal of RO/DI water in the deal too. He's a cool guy.

That is just crazy Star Polyp the oldest old school coral there is and people still buy it wow i can't give that stuff away up here. You got a great deal for sure.

Heck yeah that's a great trade!!!!
I would leave it right on the bottom where you have it.
Looks good too!

Sweet, thats like trading a one dollar bill in for a twenty. Fantastic job on making that trade :)

yeah but a smart investment fromt heir stand point cuz its a lot easier to sell 17 dollar frags than it is to sell a 100 dollar piece... all the newbers that come in are going to swoop up on that gsp but yeah thats a sweet trade wanna trade for some more gsp ha ha ha... good luck looks great

How do you even offer something like that lol. But like some one else said he will make a ton more on the GSP newer people love that stuff.

GSP are actually pretty cool if you isolate them. My buddy used to have an island in the middle of the sand with just star polyps. Never thought about that before, but it looked kinda sweet.

Any time I bring in a new favia I put it in shade and slowly work it out of the shade on the bottom. In time you can slowly move them up into heavier light. They can take it, but I've found a slow transition is best. I've bleached a few by simply leaving them on the sandbed.
