I recently broke down my frag system but am struggling coming to terms with that. Came across this 12” cube tank. Water level will be less than 10” and will be less that 6 gallons filled. Fully loaded the tank will probably weight about 50lbs.

Now I was going to build a matching platform for it next to my reefer250. However, it fits perfectly on top of my 15 Gal GLASS ato. The glass is almost a 1/4 thick and should technically be able to support in excess of 90lbs+.

Thoughts, keep it as is or build/buy a side stand?

NO, I WOULD NOT!! I have had bad luck with the IM ato reservoir. My first one arrived leaking in a bottom corner. My second one's pull out drawer seem split. I wouldn't trust it

Would be extremely easy just to build a super simple wood frame that sits over the ato. Couple 2×4s and a small piece of plywood and done deal.

Edit: nevermind saw you were considering constructing something matching

From a risk management perspective I personally would buy/build a stand. IMO, the risk/reward doesn’t appear to be worth it.

BTW, nice RS tank!

Haha well that settles that, I’ll order something now. Thanks everyone

Ahh thank you, just downgraded from a 240+ gallon system and I could not be happier with this set up. Few more minor finishing touches and we are done.

Just finished plumbing it in and the cabinet. I am pleased, much nicer than the other idea. Now time to move all the frags and crap from the display.

You should be pleased! That fits in very well and looks great! Well done!
