Would you use the Magic Eraser for this?

Wondering about using a magic eraser to help clean the inside of my acrylic tank. Hard algea is starting to appear in a few spots where my foam pad isnt removing. I had a LFS recommend it while searching for other options. Has anyone heard of this or tried it?

Not a bad idea. They are non abrasive so it shouldn’t scratch. Maybe try on a back corner just to test

Magic eraser was recommended to me for my current (and first) acrylic tank. Works fine, but I don’t use it very much. I spent a ridiculous amount of $$$ on a mighty magnet cleaner that comes with both a normal use pad and an algae buster pad. Was actually well worth the cost and I use that instead if the magic eraser. I’m over a year in and no material scratches on the front.

I use a flipper magnet and use it alot it's just those rounded corners that are starting to build up

ME's work great for all sorts of reef related cleaning. Just make sure you buy the "Original" version. They do sell some with additives so just be careful buying them.

I use magic eraser with my mighty magnet. You can easily slice erasers in thin pads and then with the eraser ‘polish’ the tanks walls.

Slicing it is key!!

I use a mandalin and slice it super thin. Then put it under the magnet on the inside of the tank. World great!

Mag Float makes a great acrylic safe magnet cleaner and Petco sells an acrylic scraper.

I buy these in bulk as "Melamine sponges". Save a bit over ME brand

The flipper works great and i also use micron filter pad coralife or any other brand is ok cut into pieces. They work great then just through it out if you think you have any sand in it.

+1. Much cheaper to buy the Melaniem sheets in bulk. They also come in thinner slices meaning you don't need to slice them yourself.

I got given some magic eraser by my aunt for cleaning my car. Used it to clean up and old tank instead and the results were awesome!

Best thing for my acrylic tank cut the foam out slide casing over magnet destroys hard coraline algae.
