Same two clowns for 17 years and no new additions so I’m thinking maybe startled and hit rock? My royal gamma can look a little angry at times but he’s as old as the clowns and have always been together. Eating ok and acting ok. I’ve been very fortunate not having to deal with fish diseases before but unfortunately that makes me novice in that regard.Looks like either a scrape or bite. Is there another clown its fighting with ?
This can heal on its own but you may want to treat in quarantine with Maracyn 2 Or Seachem neoplex.

I know the age is a big concern for me. Not really sure what to do at this point. A injury I’m hoping will heal. Not sure if he’ll survive a disease or illness. The pictures aren't super clear, but this does look infected to me. 17 years is a pretty long run for that type of clownfish. Maybe its internal defenses/disease resistance is just breaking down?
