Yeah I saw them, I'm staying away from clams for a bit, seems that I have something going on in my tank. My clams were doing fine till I bought the 3 French Poly Maxima's and since then I've lost them all.
I've ordered from liveaquarias divers den several times and have been happy with every order. I have a gold teardrop maxima from them that has grown like a weed and ive also ordered coral from them too. If you see something you like on there, get it. Things go quick on there!
Aw man that sucks. Seems like those clams are just death traps. Hope you figure out whats going on with your tank.

I was scared to keep maximas after hearing about experiences like skins'. I wasn't willing to invest into something that expensive if it was going to die. I have a deresa and it is doing extremely well and growing like a weed. I bought a crocea and later found out it was a maxima. I think this was a sign to try them

Yup, I agree. I have ordered through the DD once before, everything arrived alive. I had a fish die on me within a week and they immediately, no questions asked gave me credit for her. Very pleased with them.
I have 2 lights from buildmyled.com coming. Pictures will be taken! I have one clam under my current lights who is doing alright, so if the lights take a bit longer, I think I can keep the new clam alive until the lights get here. I would just need to find a spot for him! The current clam is 4" from the water surface so it can get enough light.

The French poly are the insanely bright ones right? My lfs has a bright green one I've been eyeing.

Yes usually they are very bright. Ask your LFS if it is french polynesian and if it is stay away!!!!!

I've done a bunch of stickies at the top of the clam forum.
After buying 3 of the cultured French Poly Maxima's "which came in not opening fully" I lost the 3 after about a month, all the rest of my clams were dead within the next month.
