Read this, felt hopeful and so far no dice... my small clowns refuse to go into my magnifica... after all the work I put in to provide a natural hosting anemone....

I'll be doing it this weekend. God i hope it works. 2 absolutely beautiful clowns and 3 beautiful rbta and they chill in the corner never going in the nems

Did you use your phone or something larger like an ipad?

phone
Just to add the day b4 I put the hand monster and scraper monster in the tank and chased the clown but as soon as the monsters came near the anenome the monster would retreat. They still were not going close to the anenome though. But I made them feel comfortable in that area

OK, I said I would report when I got home the next day..............and this is what I came home to..

She is so chilled in there:):):)

The female is so happy in the Nem but the small male has decided to tenent the return pump outlet:oops: So she is trying to drag or herd him to the Nem

Remember, many Clowns are captive bred......The best way to get a nem to host a Clown, is to put the nem in a pail and then, add the fish. Don't just dump the fish into the nem , place it in the pail beside the nem
.

I’ve also seen videos where they use an acrylic tube. Place tube on top of nem so when you place fish inside they have no choice! I’ll find that video and post it

That is the same method I used with my spotinctus clowns worked like a charm.

I went to my LFS and told one guy of my experiment
We put the same vid up to a fish only tank with about 50 adolescent clowns the reaction was totally different. as we put the video up tp the tank the little clowns tried to swim into the video as if they wanted to find a freind and join the fun.

So this thread got me hopeful and I taped 10 printed pics of clownfish in anemones. I then left them for 3 days on a xamping trip and when I came back they finally went i to the magnifica...

Videos and pictures seem to encourage them. But then again i went a bit overboard taping pics on every inch of space in my 10 gallon nano...

I have read in multiple site and videos about people this work. I'm definitely going to try this out in the weekend. And repost videos and pics.

Just make sure to literally cover the tank with several pictures from small to big. The wife thought I was crazy but hey at least it worked :D
