I was wondering if a melanuras wrass would get along with a fiery wrass, also if a blue tang will get along with yellow tangs thanks much !

Do you mean fairy wrasse? if so, then they will be fine together.

I have a blue and yellow in my 120 - I introduced the blue about two months after the yellow. Saw a bit of aggression, but it subsided pretty quickly.

I would ditch the tang idea all together, even in a 120g.. that is way too small of a tank for these fish imo.

Mel could be bossy in the tank at some point, I'm sure you will be fine... I mean, try it and see what happens? You got a screen on your tank?

no i need to make one, not had any bad luck yet iether which is partialy why i dont. whats the easyest, cheepest way to make one? ya i guess i could with the wrass but id rather be safe then sry if one killed the other ya know?

My melanarus is pretty docile. He is a super male, and about 5" or so now. I had tops on my 75G, and a jawfish got through it. I used a window screen kit from HD and some bush netting. I still have a ton left if you will be at the meeting this Saturday. I could bring you 10' or so - as long as I can still find it.

ya that would be awsome your a seas member? also any other info on melanuras and fairys realationship?

Yep (flamron on there).

As long as R2G actually ships my wrasse this time, I'll be putting in a Solar Fairy Wrasse in.

Wrasses are one of the few species that don't typically want to kill every other kind of wrasse when introduced. There are exceptions, though, but I don't think the fairy wrasse will be one of them. We'll see if all goes well!

Ya - all fish belong in the ocean, not a box....

I'm not a fan of overstocking, but I'd not hesitate to put a yellow tang in a 75. Heck, I did it for two years. Happy, fat, no aggression. Rescued a hippo and had it in there for 8 months, too. I'm sure it would have preferred my tank as opposed to a toilet. I did get rid of it as it kept fragging corals because of size. Unofficially, I will likely put a yellow tang in my 40B frag tank at some point. But I won't tell you that on the record. :D

Not trying to turn this into the tang police discussion, but offering my experience. My current hippo and yellow are again, happy, fat, and have zero aggression towards any fish. My two clowns do try to shoe the hippo away when they have eggs - maybe I should get rid of them?
