So, I have had my exquisite wrasse in QT since January. He has survived TTM w/ a week of Prazipro treatment. Now he is going on week 3 of observation and waiting for his new home. He has been a champ the entire time. He eats like a.pig. My new 180 is ready for inhabitants and I'm about to leave for a little vacay (4 days). I was debating whether or not to put him in his new home before we leave or just wait until we return. As I was feeding him this AM I noticed a white spot on his head above his eye[emoji35] . I can't figure out what it is so I'm turning to you all for advice. At least now I know I'm not going to put him the display until I return. I have attached a pic (not great ) of the spot. It looks like a piece of sand is sticking out of his head. I haven't notice any unusual behavior. She eats like a pig, swims with no issues. Just happened to notice when I was feeding this AM. She do get white spots when she comes out of her pvc in the morning and pale colors but they are gone in a matter of minutes and she colors back up. Everything is normal today w/the exception of the white spot.

I'm not an expert like some of the folks here, but I've dealt with ich before and recall the spots appearing more at night/early morning. I'd consider re-treating personally.

That doesn't look like ich. Could the fish have scraped itself on something. Wrasses do jet around like torpedoes, so it's not inconceivable that they might occasionally bump into something.

Yes full TTM. Everything was cleaned with vinager and dried out for 24 hrs. Nothing cross contaminated.

That could be ich or it could be nothing (slight injury). I would just monitor it for now. Feed her vitamin soaked food (Selcon, Zoecon, Vita-chem).

Wouldn't think pvc could wound him. Its not like it's mounded in the tank where if he bumps into it it wouldn't move and cause an abrasion or wound. I hope it's nothing.

Some Pvc can be a bit sharp on the edges. It's a concern at times.

It's hard to tell what's on the glass, what's a reflection and what's actually on the fish. I still see the little white dot, but that's almost expected. Keep an eye on it.

It kinda looks like flukes in one of the photos. Did he get 2 rounds of Prazipro, 5-7 days apart?

If it's been longer than 7 days since the last dose then you will have to start over. You want to do two treatments 5-7 days apart with a water change in between. The second dose is important to kill any newly hatched babies before they can lay their own eggs.

Prazi only needs 24 hours to do it's magic. After that you can do a water change and wait the 5-7 days for the next dose.
