My wife and I will be running a 125Gal tank. We really like these 4 Wrasse. If at all possible we would love to run all 4 if not that is perfectly fine, we would love to run as many of these as possible though. Here is a list of possible tank mates as well! This tank is not set up yet and will not be starting up for a few months so there is plenty of time to improve our lifestock list,

Red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse
Lineatus Fairy Wrasse
Scott's Fairy Wrasse
Pink Margin Fairy Wrasse

Tank mates

Royal Gramma
Black Snowflake
Banggai Cardinal
OneSpot Foxfish
Midas Blenny
Blue Mandarin Goby
Powder Blue Tang
Purple Tang
Urchin
Fromia Starfish
Skunk Cleaner Shrimp
Fire Shrimp
Bullseye Pistol Shrimp
Maxima Clam

Welcome to Reef 2 Reef, There is a fantastic guide by wrasse man @evolved to mixing fairy wrasses stickied at the top of the page.

I would be concerned about the closeness of the Lineatus, and Pink margin being from the same complex, and the Scotts, and Solon, being adjacent complexes. Though people who are more experienced in wrasses may be able to give better advice.

special attention to:

C. scottorum “Scott’s Fairy”: Occasionally available, somewhat expensive. Very prone to fading coloration in captivity, males will lose their red spot and other saturated colors. Often the most aggressive of the genus and should not be kept with other Cirrhilabrus.

C. rubrimarginatus “Pink Margin Fairy”: Occasionally available, somewhat expensive. Generally peaceful, except with C. lineatus.

C. lineatus “Lineatus Fairy”: Occasionally available, rather expensive. Dominant males are beyond stunning. Peaceful, except with C. rubrimarginatus.

The Scott's makes me nervous. Maybe replace with exquisite?

The powder blue is borderline too big and aggressive for a 125, although it may work.

Yea and after looking more into Scott’s in captivity idk if i can give it the specific care it needs to keep those vibrant colors. An exquisite looks nice. Reading more into how often they need to be feed I may go down to 2-3 Wrasse anyways.
The powder blue tang is something I am on the fence about. I want to try and add the tangs absolutely last so they can be the last for territory and so I can watch them with everything else.

There's just one issue there on the wrasses...
In a 125g the lineartus and pink margin should be fine.

The scotts would be the issue.
Agree fully.
@evolved show the hospitality dude ;)
We're 3 hours apart in time zones, you and I. This whole thread literally happened while I was asleep. :P

No one can... :) Just skip it.

You think so? I mean they are pretty close to the same so we could drop the Scott’s and ether the Lineartus or pink and just do 2 there feeding habitats are going to be fun to deal with anyways xD

So just drop the Scott’s and you think the tank would be fine? Also your Paper is amazing and has been super helpful once the first person linked it!

I mean reading his paper is almost as good honestly xD im sure the man the myth and the legend will let his paper do the talking. xD
For certain, its scholarly written! One of the best reads I've read on a certain type of fish! I feel like it's an excerpt out of the fish bible that I hope to see someday. All the books I see nowadays has only a handful of species with little detail that truly pertains to hobbiests

Yea when i first looked into fish a lot of the “pros” did little to no explaining about the species the so called are an experts in.

Yeah gotta send em your way my dude! They need to incorporate a wrasse symbol (like the bat signal) to light up letting you know when theres wrasse troubles afoot. Plus I'm getting tired of typing "@evolved"

We seriously need to get a few people who specialize in a certain type of fish like hunter does and do a collab book, an official fish bible of the saltwater aquarium hobby. Bet that thing would be at all stores across the world and probably in a lot of people's houses too!

Shoot that could be done. Well need to now convince my wife to feed them 2 times and i will feed them the other 2 times xD

Yes. And there's still room for more, if you so choose. Just use that compatibility chart and choose appropriately. :)

I'm glad to hear, and just as please to see you read through to the end! :P

Why, thank you very much for the compliments; humbling.

A wise person (@Tahoe61) once told me, on a forum of the past, "I look forward to reading your book someday".
You never know what the future may bring, I suppose.

They're little eating machines. :) But each feeding doesn't have to be a lot, and they can even be 30 minutes apart. Whatever fits your schedule can work.

Since the Legend himself is here. What would be a Reef safe Wrasse you would add to the setup? We like the popping and flamboyant colors. You the best ^.^

What would be a Reef safe Wrasse you would add to the setup?
Well, my standard answer here applies; the choice is personal based on what appeals to you, what you wish to spend, and what you can actually find available to purchase - all factors that are individual.
But I'm happy to give feedback on a list. :)
