hes been in the tank for about a month now. I got home from work and saw him laying on the sand and a pale white. (I never see him at night usually).

Looked dead. Sent in the net. Swam at it and bit on to it immediately his normal bright red.

Back in tank. Paled out again and laying down. ??

Testing parems now

Hey! Sorry to hear about your wrasse. What are the parameters? Temp ammonia nitrite Salinity?

Have you added any chemicals to the tank e.g copper?

How are your other tank inhabitants?

I don’t know if he’s dead or not. He colored right up went in and repeated. He’s hiding now. Oh boy. Everyone else is happy. Acting normal. Shrimps snails clowns and goby all doing the normal.

I have added no chemicals. Nothing has gone in this week other than a water change 3 days ago and normal feeding.

My wrasses look pale like that when they are sleeping, but are always in the rockwork.

That’s what I’m wondering. I’ve never been able to find him when he’s sleeping before and he was at the front of the tank under some zoas

Mine goes pale once lights go out. It hides in the rockwork between two rocks. It’s normal for them to look pale at night.

This makes me feel better. I’ve just never ever ever been able to find him at night. Sorry for false alarm.
Nitrite 0 nitrate 1-2. Ammonia 0
