i have had a male flame wrasse for about a month in my tank.

On Sunday, I added a small purple tang, and Monday the flame hidnall day in rocks, only to come out prior to lights going out to eat (second feeding, didn’t eat first time around)

Yesterday he hid all day, I can see him alive in rocks.

Thinking it has to be the purple, I took some rock out and netted the purple to my sump last night.

Today wrasse is still hiding, and I fed once already.

Is there anyway I can coax him out from hiding to see the purple isn’t around anymore?

Would not eating yesterday nor today so far suggests he’s doomed to wither away?

Thanks

It’s a small tank, 60 cube. Other fish are a small radiant wrasse, ignitus anthias, dwarf moray and Christmas wrasse

Christmas wrasse
What species?

Adding a new fish has the potential to shuffle the whole deck of hierarchy; have you sat back and witnessed the tank to see if anyone else is bullying the flame? If it was just the purple tang that spooked it, things should resolve and the fish should go back to how it behaved before in 2-3 days time. If it lasts longer than that, something else is going on.

H. Claudia.

He has been in there the entire time, one new addition is the ignitus and purple.

Still in same spot as last night. Took the purple out 24 hours ago. Hopefully tomorrow he’s back out

Been about 4 or 5 days now. He’s alive but hasn’t moved from that spot.

Really hate to see a 300 dollar fish melt away, especially that now there is no one in there to chase him. Beyond frustrated

Are you certain no one else is being a bully? This behavior is almost always a result of such, and the Christmas Wrasse is a definite suspect.
