Hello,

This wrasse was sold to me as a Melanurus Wrasse. Can someone identify this fish please?

Unfortunately, you're not the only person on here that received a lunare wrasse instead of a melanurus from him ... the weird thing is he doesn't have lunare wrasses listed for sale so I suspect someone at his warehouse labeled them wrong and doesn't know the difference.

I noticed that, I could t find this wrasse on his website. I ignorantly assumed it may be a juvenile melanurus…. I know better, I’ve kept melanurus wrasses before.

He’s a model citizen at this point. Been in the tank a month or so, was the last addition. I feed heavily due to the Copperband and Bartletts, hopefully they will keep him content.

This wrasse can't be trusted with clams something to be aware of since you have a nice one.

Very well, i take back saying "good luck" as lunare wrasse may take a liking to another fishes eyeball. It happens more often than you'd think.

That was entirely unnecessary. This is a peaceful and public forum. Try not to go lunare wrasse on everybody here.

Here's a link from another poster.

I'm not kidding about them taking eyeballs.

Lunare wrasse can become nasty mean. Good luck!
I thought this is very helpful for a reefer who does not know what a Lunare wrasse is and how he behaves in a reeftank. Which is the case with @Syntax1235 . I wish I can put a thumb down for his reply to this post. I guess the Syntax1235 is angry at DrReef plus the Lunare wrasse and is taking it out on @Goaway.
I guess this post is cluttering up this thread.
