Last week I had an outbreak of Ich from a copper band butterfly that didn’t go through QT correctly. I have all the fish in two different QT tanks now. I didn’t notice any Ich on the wrasses. Do they still need the full 15 days at therapeutic levels of copper?

Yes, if they are transferred to a sterile qt directly from copper. Otherwise, they need 30 days (in copper)

I have a 55 gallon tank that is ready without copper. Are you saying they don’t need copper if I can put them in a new QT for 30 days? My plan was 15 days copper then the rest of the 76 days without copper. But was wondering if I could pull the wrasses out of copper early?

No, administer the copper treatment for 30days minimum if you're going to use the same aquarium for QT during the 76 day fallow period.

2 weeks of copper treatment is advised if you're going to transfer the fish into 2nd sterile QT afterwards.

Sorry I wasn't clear enough. As others said, 30 days in copper unless they are transferred to a new and sterile qt after 15 days.

Ok I’m getting close to the 15 days of copper and I’ve been feeding all the fish with GC soaked food. I haven’t done a fresh water dip. Should I use GC in the water before I transfer them to the new QT? Everyone is eating and looking healthy. Most of the fish have gone through two rounds of GC a year ago except the new copper band butterfly that started this headache.
