Wrasse Resort

Aaron you are two thumbs up-ing my post of not being able to see a Choati anymore? :face-with-monocle::squinting-face-with-tongue::rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
Maybe ;)
Besides, hopefully this year you’ll see one somehow land it’s way into my tank!

You can always just hide a container of sand behind the rock work if you want a sand burying wrasse or two without doing a full sand bed. Some of them are excellent at coral pest control.
I’ve thought about doing that actually. May have to if I can’t find some of the wrasses on my list. Lol

Oh I see….your trying to get me hyped for when I see you get your Choati :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Tell her to transition already! Those blues and oranges are needed and looked forward to!
Is the male prettier?
Her lines glow so much in the blues and she has a ton of complex lines.

Honestly, they’re both as nice as eachother but the males have a darker black finnage.

Fingers crossed you find another!
Wish I could ship to you, my LFS seems to get these guys in quite often…
I hadn't seen one in several years until a vendor got a small shipment last year. I missed out and have been on the hunt ever since. Did your LFS start getting them within the last 6-12 months?

They’ve been getting them in for the past two years however I’ve seen a spike more recently (6ish months).

#WrasseWednesday (She finally sat still long enough for an in-focus photo, right behind the dirty glass just above the sand...:yawning-face:)

P.S. I'm still pretty sure she is a cross between H. chrysus and H. leucoxanthus rather than fully the latter!

It's possible, the two species do overlap in their distributions.

I had cirrhosis liveritis. I had to cut back on my vodka dosing to get back in an acceptable range to make it happy again.

My earmuff wrasse is in the running for the January POTM contest! Check him out, and while you're there cast a vote for pic #1 :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:
