Wrasse Resort

Thanks everyone. All of this has taken the wind out of my sails. I need to refocus and decide what my next move is once I get what's going on with my wrasses figured out.

This is terrible. That redhead has been in there for a bit. Are other non-wrasses affected?
The red head died 2 days after I added it. Looked perfectly healthy, but I know wrasses can be carriers and not show symptoms. Only my wrasses have been affected. You recently lost your choats for no known reason, right? Maybe there's a weird wrasse flu going around haha.

It’s hard when you can’t figure out what happened. @Crabby48 knows I had an issue 6-12 months ago where I lost 6 lyretail, bimac, tomini, pink streak, vivien, and copperband within two weeks. Most of those fish I had for 2 years. Heavy breathing and loss of appetite. Watanabe, bellus and chrysus totally unaffected and still have them today.

Tank is finally ready for restocking! This guy should arrive Tuesday. Haven’t ordered from DD in years, fingers crossed all goes well.

What wrasses do you currently have to go with him?

I’m sure you’ll get some great displays from this guy.

Didn't get the new guy in the tank until after 8:00 last night. Lights were off and only the moons were on when I added him so no pics yet. My Johnson's fairy chased the new guy off and on for about an hour, but the real jerk was my Lamarck's angel - she has got to go! Fingers crossed when I get home today all is well.

M. negrosensis, A. neoguinaicus, and C. johnsoni. I lost my others to what I thought was a possible contagion brought in by the rubricephalus, but now I suspect my angelfish killed them all... ironic how only my large wrasses died, disease does not discriminate like that. @MoMoTheMonster watched my angel attack my foxface relentlessly the other night so it's time for the angel to be evicted.

how big is the lamarcks ? have a place to go with him ?

That’s a shame to hear about the angel, on the other hand atleast your Neoguinaicus and Johnson I managed to survive :)

It’s a lamarcki right?

About 5" so far no one wants her. I think if she had more territory than my 90g it would help chill her out.

This is known as a ‘Bleeding Heart Wrasse’ or Halichoeres margaritaceus another species which goes under this name is Halichoeres nebulosus and both are usually mistaken for eachother.

I believe this specimen is the first species instead of the latter species looking at the dorsal markings on the body.
