Wrasse trapped under rock?

I just added some rocks to my tank and moved some of the old rocks in order to do so. My wrasse hides in the sand a lot when he gets scared. If on the off chance he got trapped under one will he be able to get out? I have about an inch of sand. (This is all unlikely but I just wanna make sure)

I always place my rocks before adding sand to prevent any issues. Could you try pushing the sand out of the way and then placing the rock work? I imagine its not too common for rock to randomly fall in a way that pins a fish. But it is a possibility.

I was adding more to the tank and just moved some of the old ones

I’ll keep you guys updated. It’s been a few hours and he hasn’t come out. Which is very unlike him. He’s the boss of the tank. I really hope he’s alright.

I wouldn’t worry about it unless it’s been days. Like you said, he hides when scared. If you were in the tank moving rocks/adding rocks, he probably just got scared and needs some time to relax and catch up on his emails
