Wrasse with Bristleworm needles on it.

My leopard wrasse woke up yesterday with a bunch of pricks from what seems to be from bristleworms. Has anyone ever heard of this/seen this on their fish? What am i suppose to do to get it out now?

The whole left side of the fish is covered in it.

My leopards and terelabrus wrasses will eat bristleworms and occasionally wind up with those "quills" around their mouth area. None of them have ever had any obvious ill-effects and they continue to eat them.

Oooo Okay hopefully mine with be okay... the eye has some quills on them also and its turning cloudy

The quills will dissolve, leaving the wrasse no worse for wear.

My Leopard and Melanurus Wrasse both have tangled with a few quite large Bristleworms and seem happy to continue the hunt for them. Their favorite meals other than frozen Bloodworms though is when I take the dikes to Vermatid Snail shells exposing the tasty snail itself..... yum yum

My royal Gramma always had bristles protruding from his mouth... Never hurt him.
